Photo Session on the Zugspitze - The Top of Germany

By now, I’ve got this approach down to a T - and anniversary pictures deserve no less effort than this!

Taking the first cable car up to the Zugspitze, there’s a 99% chance that outside of ski season, everyone else will get off and head up to the main platform.

Meanwhile, I know better and head straight to the smaller cable car that takes you down into the glacier area. It was just us and two giant (what I assume to be) freshwater tanks - cue all my questions about those - which made for quite an interesting setup.

The feeling when you step out of the cable car - or in our case, get personally escorted all the way to the building exit because there were only three of us - and realize there’s not a single other person in sight is hard to put into words. It’s equal parts breathtaking, quiet, and overwhelming - and you know this probably won’t happen again.

Unless, of course, you stick to my method.
