Eloping at Eibsee in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

I’ll say this a million more times, but there are few places in Europe that are as unique and beautiful for an elopement backdrop as the nature in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area, especially Eibsee.

Kaitlynn and Taylor travelled to Germany with their families, and on the day of their elopement, it started pouring. I know they say rain on your wedding day is good luck, but when you pull up in the parking lot for an elopement in a raging thunderstorm, you start questioning the validity of sayings...

When I tell clients the weather in the Alps can change fast, this day was the best example for it. I am beyond grateful for Kaitlynn and Taylor's trust in me when I reassured them that in 30 minutes, it would stop raining and the sun would make an appearance. And grateful for weather apps that kept us all sane hah!

Not only did the storm mean that virtually every tourist had left the lake, it also created the most stunning after-storm sunset!
